Login screen works but needs refurbishing for its intergration with the remainder of the application

Tasks to be complete for this issue:

[ ] remove of the topbar for the login screen
[ ] topbar should re appear when user has been directed to the tasks page
[ ] Appropriate error handling for login input
[ ] cleanup related code to login navigation
