Clean up code for v0.1 #2

The now-obsolete source files for v0.1 may be of research interest, so it needs to have proper documentation added and redundant code units removed. Recheck all functions for redundancy.

Documentation complete with commit cc6f1891dd4e7318fae9e2f039ffb099db846cb6, deprecated functions removed, and improved readability implemented.
