Any news about this "export to image file" feature?

I heard that exporting snapshots is a legal issue and not a technical one. If
that is
the case I have a few arguments for it:

1 Geo referenced imagery is no longer correct because it is projected on a
surface
with varying elevation. It is impossible to perfectly match up subsequent
captured
images as a means of copying large amounts of data.

2 You could limit screen snapshots to camera tilt angles other than 0 which
introduces a perspective effect and guarantees the image can only be used by
itself.

3 It is possible to capture the image anyway using the Print Screen key, it is
just
more awkward and limited in it's use.

4 It is possible to take imagery from Maps anyway if people are really keen to
steal
the data.

What is simply needed is an equivalent for the COM API's

HRESULT IApplicationGE::GetRenderHwnd([out, retval] OLE_HANDLE * hwnd)

Blocking this for "legal reasons" can be worked around even with trivial
Windows applets like the "Snipping Tool" on the Accessories page in Windows 7,
or with a screen capture utility. It's pointless not to implement this call
just to make life harder for programmers being forced to change from the COM
API to the Plugin and who must geo-reference their work.
