Installation fails

I cannot get Google Earth 6 to install on my Windows 7 64bit system.
When i click on the install file, i almost immediately get an error box which 
says, "Installation failed. The Google Earth installer failed to start." I 
tried numerous ways to get around it, I even stopped all antivirus and 
firewalls from running but got the same results.

The site dl.google is down and thus the installer is failing can some fix this 
please URGENTLY!

I've tried to install the latest and the previous versions in my 64 bit Windows 
7 box. The only difference is the way the installation attempts fail. It looked 
like installing the previous version was working until the installer announced 
that I didn't have privileges and should try as an administrator or call my 
administrator. This is Windows 7 BS. I've had nothing but hassles with 
privileges even though I am the Owner with alleged Full Administrator rights. 
Microsoft just shoves the "user community" fix in my face - go to a site and 
try to find a solution to Microsoft's engineering failure among tens of 
thousands of users who have the same problem as I do. We paid for this system, 
and support drops dead as soon as the check clears. We need a solution that 
involves an Attorney General, fraud charges, and lots of publicity.

I have been using google earth for years but after updating, I suddenly had a 
white globe until I zoomed right in. I uninstalled the programme and then tried 
to re-install but now it bombs out on me. Error message " Google earth has 
encountered a problem and has to end, an error message has been sent" I am 
running Windows XP

When downloading latest version, the program stops responding after presenting 
the "Startup Tip" box.  I have used Google Earth before and never had a 
problem.  Thanks

Using XP. When trying to open I could go so far and the screen goes 
black!Restart and reopen--same results. Uninstall, reinstall-- same results, a 
black screen.restart and PC works fine on other applications. What has changed 
that I can no longer use google earth? mcpo@hotmail.com
