Update testing framework

This PR changes the test framework to pytest. It also modernises other aspects of the infrastructure, including:

• Remove coding standards tests and replace with a flake8 configuration.
• Use Stickler CI for coding standards reviews.
• Switch to conda-forge for Travis CI dependencies.
• Travis CI tests on Python 2.7, 3.5 and 3.6.
