I ma not sure if it exists, but I didn't find it anywhere.

It would be very convenient to have a shortcut that directly searches for the selected text.

Hi,

There's no dedicated shortcut for this but you can select text and press Ctrl+H the search dialog appears. It should have your selected text in the text box and InstaSearch is one of the tabs. I don't really have a plan of adding a separate shortcut but patches are always welcome:)
