We are making very good headway on our midterm goal as two of the albums are completely marked up. We have also created XHTML and CSS for our site's index page to put up during our next project meeting, which will be a fun first step in using our domain but will also give us practice in uploading to our site. Over the next week or two, I will be going over the mark-up of my other team members to check for both consistency and to make sure that the Spanish text was accurately understood and tagged. My group has also started to think about the aesthetics of our site both colors and layout, but we have not reached any decisions yet.

I think it is great that you have begun brainstorming for your website layout. My group has also begun planning for our website, and found it useful to sketch out what the UI might look like. It wasn't anything fancy, just a simple blueprint created using Zoom's whiteboard feature. Taking that step was crucial in visualizing how the layout could compliment the content of each given page. I am excited to see what layout and design you decide on!

My group also had a similar midterm goal of completing our markups, which will be helpful and allow more time in the future to focus on website design. It might help to create a blueprint or list of ideas of what you would like on your website (like what main tabs you want, what might go under each tab). We used the white board feature on zoom to draw how we kind of wanted the site to look like (none of the colors or anything, just the basic layout) to get everyone in the groups opinion of how the site should look, this might be helpful to do in the next meeting, or I guess you could do the same on an xhtml while sharing your screen.

Like your group, my group has also started discussing how to use xhtml and css for our project. What are some of the ways you hope to display your information through your site? I think its crucial to assure your site is consistent across all platforms and gives the user the best opportunity to learn your content.

That's very impressive that you have already started creating the xhml and css for your website. My group has started to plan out our different pages, but found some of them are hard to plan without knowing what visualizations will come with our data. For your research questions, how do you guys plan on adding visualizations that are helpful to people who visit your website? I am pe5sonally struggling to land on a specific format for displaying the graphs/breakdowns and would appreciate other opinions on the subject. Regardless it seems like you guys are making excellent progress towards your midterm, keep up the good work.
