Everyone speaks a different language I call this things I learned from breakdancing because bboy shibboleth, code switching

Practice routines to learn improvisation you have to develop content, skills free-style and written or sets, improvisation or scripted you practice sets to get better at freestyling but it's complicated

don't hold back go all out, don't worry about having no moves left over the people who win always are the ones who do have moves left over; turns out you can't fake this respect to your opponent

you have to make it look easy falling is not an option (Crazy Legs yelling this on the mic at UK Champs)

wack is not a style

confidence wins Alien Ness, winning battles he shouldn't have make eye contact always act like you think you won don't sit down

what does it mean to "express yourself"? not communication, but a different level of behavior, unmediated by choreography or expectation, more direct: when the moves are not moves that you're doing, but flow directly from your self
