My attempt to re-create the XML2 PSP and XML1 power icons. I'm not sure, if these are already included. GIMP file format (xcf) only. xml_icons.zip Previews: frost_icons xman_icons The Cable icons should not be used, since we're using the Outsider's mod for him. cable_icons

UltraMegaMagnus and @ak2yny both have the original resources, most of it from various versions. The PS2 assets are usually the best quality, I believe. BaconWizard17 and the XML2 UP team also made various improvements to the XML2 characters and we can get these assets any time we want.

I uploaded my current state of Cannonball to GitHub last year. I am struggling with the effects. I want to use as many original effects as possible but some prove a real challenge to make them display correctly in MUA. I also want to add some extras, like distortion effects, where possible.

Here is an update with comments from UltraMegaMagnus. This is already a long time ago. The XML2 character updates should have these updates included. The other (DLC) characters might not have been updated, yet. I don't know if the files are somewhere in our DMs.

Modified Effects These below some changes/fix that I’ve done. Maybe some of the things listed here already been fixed in the last updated OCP I’m not sure because I don’t really use it. These effect changes also need some modifications to powerstyle (I can provide them if you want but I have to open it one by one via XMLBCUI). Also, i can send the effect files that I’ve modified….so that maybe you guys can test them first to see if its ok or not to include...i’m happy with any decision. No problem.

Juggernaut Arcane Fist power: added effects and popup to victims – the original one does nothing and seems useless

Dr Strange blocking effect from ak2yny (is it already included?)

Beast Both of passive power effect fixed. Added claw power effect (change color from Black Panther’s to blue)

Dr Doom blocking effect (added using Magneto’s effect but with green colour) and modified his Doom Shield effect, I made it bigger because the default one is too small and did not cover his cape...looks weird.

Jubilee Sparkling Fist effect modified – the old one was using Professor X’s effect and it really bothers me. Why not just use Jubilee’s own effect? I modified one of hers and make it smaller. First power (Fireworks) effect (p1_arc) also fixed because the arc appear delayed before. Another passive power (Stressful Situation) effect also modified because the old one was too bright.

Rogue power effects fixed. Energy Overflow (change dust effect), Tremor (change dust effect & added rocks effect). I gave “stunned victim” to Energy Overflow from Tremor and gave Tremor “popup victim”.

Actually all dust effect from xml2 need to change because they are still using the same code from xml2 but gave different visual in MUA...and it looks awful. I have changed some including Rogue, Gambit, Professor X. Angel, Jean Grey and some others I can’t remember.

Jean Grey blocking effect fixed. The old one was just pink and not in a proper position. I changed to color that matched to her other default power colour and put in a proper position. In fact I added projectile deflection also to some character like her and invisible woman (character that known well to create shield). Also her Dark Phoenix power added with “knockback victim” with new dust effect. The old one is only do mental damage?? Doesn’t makes sense. Telekinesis effect from Nicaras’ fixed (is it already included??)

Professor X Crushing Ego’s effect. Now appears on victims and removed that weird dust effect from xml2. Also fix head effect for Telepathic Link power. I’m not sure if this power called Befuddled already in OCP but I think the effect is using Jean’s Memory Wipe effect (pink). Again, why not use Professor’s own effect? So, I found one of his effect that suitable with this power from his XML1 mod.

Magneto added blocking effect using same effect of Magnetic Shield but I make it “thinner” layer so it won’t get too heavy/thick visual if both are on.

Invisible Woman fixed her blocking effect, I made it slightly bigger to put it in proper position so it will appear right in the middle if both shields are on.

Toad have his tongue out during menu_action in CSS (already included, right??)

Pyro fixed extreme power effect (p9_charge) - give the correct orientaxis for cracks and hitflash.

Emma Frost Camouflage power effect. Not sure if I like the effect, it’s too bright and disturbing. Haven’t decide yet what to do with it.

Psylocke Psychic Shield effect fixed. Gave the correct orientaxis. For me, I would remove the butterfly effect on the head. Just effect on the ground is sufficent.

Scarlet Witch I’m a bit confused why the change to her Reality Shift power from “turn enemy to crate” to “phasing enemy to other dimension”. Dr Strange also have this kind of power too..so?

Anyway, her flying effect on hands I change to make it as close as possible to the color in xml2 without the constant blinking and added some soft pink color on the middle...so that it will not look exactly like Jean Grey’s (which I assume currently like that on the latest OCP).

Also her Probability Syphon effect is using her Amplify Luck effect (green instead of red). There are 3 passive in xml2: Probability Syphon (red), Amplify Luck (green) and Heal (blue). Probability Syphon description is somehow a combination of two – Syphon and Amplify Luck combine. Is that done like that on purpose?

Also I noticed when starting the game, her first power is the passive one (Probability Syphon) instead of Hex Bolts (scar_hex_locked) which is on the herostat. So I put this power on the top of the list in her talent file. It fixed it.

I’ve fixed a few effects also for Angel but since he is not the official character, so I leave it first. Also if possible, X-Man, Cable, Cannonball and Magma need a serious effect fix…especially X-Man on the orientation. He is not popular character but still the original from the game though. Cannonball seems like forgotten completely despite got a very beautiful skins update from BaconWizard. What a waste.
