Highlights are extracted, annotations aren't #12

I opened a pdf of my tax draft, highlighted one line, and added an annotation.

The corresponding note only shows the highlight, not the annotation.

The note extracted is

[[New York's 529 college savings program deduction/earnings. (Page 42) ]]

I don't know why it's showing the copyright symbol there - in Document Viewer it shows up as a quote with a t.

I changed it to not use any quotes, and retried it, to eliminate potential character set issue errors. Same result - no note extracted.

Double down on this one, extracting annotations as headers for the respective highlights would be amazing!!!

I'm piling on to this request... I see the same behavior. I'd like to use native Preview app on Mac to mark up both with highlights and with "note" (text annotations) on PDFs and only the highlights are extracted. I'm happy to donate/contribute to the cause, if some funding will help. :) The highlight extractor works great! I really need the note extraction too, otherwise this isn't fully usable for my PKM workflow. Sure hope it works out because Zotero/Zotfile is way too clunky. Thank you.
