Hey there! Thank you very much. Can you please upload the PDF you experienced this with?

And, just so I understand correctly, this is what happened:

  1. You have a PDF and you added highlights
  2. You dragged the PDF into Obsidian (thereby most likely creating a copy of the file)
  3. You extracted highlights into Markdown
  4. You opened the PDF that was imported into Obsidian
  5. You added more highlights
  6. You extracted again but did the markdown file was not updated

Can you make sure it's the right PDF (since Obsidian usually does make copy on import)? Can you try again by deleting the generated markdown file and see if all highlights are accounted for?

Thanks!

Hi, now it is not even generating the file with the markdown... (this is a new file that I never uploaded in Obsidian).

Attached the file, tks pdf test.pdf

That's indeed weird – How did you create the green highlights?

I'm asking because I've seen that some PDF readers will create non-standard highlights that can't be parsed.

with this https://www.xodo.com/

Could this be a Xodo compatibility issue? I use Xodo for all my highlights and annotations I can't extract anything in Obsidian using the plugin. Even though Xodo highlights are accessible in every viewer
