Android and possibly iOS download the pdf without prompting with I think is rude.

pdf.js to the rescue

got a poc working - pdf.js is absolutely way more complex than it needs to be for the simple case

gave up, created a react application - npm dependency hell here we go.

but I did get a reader working so there's that

gh pages is broken due to the mismatch on base url - meh, this issue is still resolved.
