Email variables are wrongly encoded as HTML entities #245

Received bug report over email:

Hello, I would like to ask your help regarding Akeeba Engage emails in greek language, since all the tags (except for the comment itself) in an email are html encoded (ενη...). It's a fresh instance of Engage 3.2.3 in a Joomla 4.2.6 installation. The greek characters in the email templates appear fine, only the text generated from the tags (eg. {RECIPIENT_NAME}) appear like that. Any suggestions?
