Windows system support #28

Support is native for Linux based operating systems, the Python API supports Linux + OSX, no support for windows. Edits to source code could possibly need to reflect CMake installation process may need edits to accommodate this.

This isn't very urgent so I will tackle this once I get windows VM loaded for some simple testing. Be sure to look into any files where we use POSIX/UNIX specific headers
