This makes perhaps the 3rd PR to try to change the mappings, I seem to get quite a lot of PRs from users insisting that the correct direction is x. Seems very likely to me that this PR will eventually be succeeded by yet another trying to set it to the "right way". To my mind it's fine as is and most importantly very easy to change by the user. So if it feels wrong please just change it in your config.
