Cant get text expansion to work at all #262

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Create a string
2.Give it an abbreviation but it refuses to save it
3.Give it a hot key

I get nothing pasted from any strings saved and no abbreviations are possible,
but the hot key pastes nothing either

OS: 0.90.1 on Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon desktop

I have used Autohotkey on windows for years, but this seems a very frustrating
experience.

Same here. Using Ubuntu Saucy 13.10. Odd thing is that Autokey kept working
through all (unclean) upgrades from 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 and _EVEN_ 13.10 until
I decided to do a clean reinstall of 13.10 to get rid of leftovers. Something
needed broke then and now Autokey just doesn't work at all: freezes on saving,
doesn't trigger, shows or doesn't show randomly in dash, hotkeys not working
etc. I'm pretty sure it's a lib dependancy thing but can't pinpoint it.

Could you start Autokey from the terminal in debug mode, and see if any error
message or TraceBack is indicated?

$ autokey -l
