Summary / How this PR fixes the problem?

Improve the UI of the layers, add shape icons, improve the hover and select effect.

This PR fixes/implements the following bugs/features:

[x] Use a better select/hover state.
[x] Show the icon for the currently implemented shapes.
[x] Add the visible and locked buttons (not hooked to any model state).
~Show child layers indented below the parent.~ deferred to next PR
