I think this is an interesting idea. I have some ideas for highlighting and selectively showing content, and I think your idea can fit into that.
I think in order to implement this, I'd want to put some other UI semantics in place first because having this action take place simply by tapping on the word would be clashing with other ways that one interacts with the text (for example, scrolling, selecting for copy-paste, etc.).
In short, I think this is something I would seriously consider adding, but I think some other things need to be built first in order to support this. I'll leave this issue open, and you can continue to add use-cases and feedback here.
I'd also like to get some clarifying information on the use-case that you are bringing. I'm curious to know why you prefer to show a specific word vs. just toggling the טעמים/ניקוד for all of the words using the existing functionality. This will help me better understand why this feature is important to add to the app.

Hi, very good project! I used it last year for Esther and now I'm here again.
When I'm preparing for the Megilla, I have some words that are difficult for me, you know, I just need a "hint" to continue the reading (it can be דגש, or טעם, even not important one).
In my physical book, I'm writing those hints on the "left" size (the empty size... sorry, my vocabulary doesn't contain words from עולם הדתי 😉).
I was thinking about adding an option to click on a word to toggle the טעמים and ניקוד just for it, and remember this decision.
I have knowledge in Frontend development, but I remember this is not implemented in React or something, so maybe I will need some guides... Can you direct me on how to implement such an option (of course, if you accept my proposal...)?
