Widget currently lacks:
1) Little transparency of background, recently added to most of Plasma's stock widget (can be seen on Connect widget on the right)
2) Ability to turn off background with single button, which can be seen on System monitor widget on the left
The lack of these two makes widget visually distinctive from other widgets, making it harder to be fit in desktop design.
