Amazon Prime stopped loading videos "This video uses FLASH_ACCESS DRM" #227

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. load any video on amazon prime
2. used xbmc on raspbmc or xmbc for android

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected video. I see an error that says 'This video uses FLASH_ACCESS DRM'
instead.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest stable releases for android & raspbmc. Tried running updates and
updating plugins.

Please provide any additional information below.

Same thing with Win7-64 xbmc 12.1 using amazon plugin 0.6.9. See also issue
158. Not sure how issue priorities are determined but this seems higher than
"medium".

Extensive conversation about this at XBMC forums. Apparently this is a new
feature of Amazon Prime, not a bug. See page 75 or so at least
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=108124&highlight=Amazon

I get the following verbose when rtmpdump is attempting to fetch the stream
(when copy pasting the parameters to rtmpdump manually):

DEBUG: HandShake: Genuine Adobe Flash Media Server
DEBUG: HandShake: Handshaking finished....
DEBUG: RTMP_Connect1, handshaked
DEBUG: Invoking connect
INFO: Connected...
DEBUG: HandleServerBW: server BW = 1250000
DEBUG: HandleClientBW: client BW = 1250000 2
DEBUG: HandleCtrl, received ctrl. type: 26, len: 3
DEBUG: HandleCtrl, SWFVerification ping received:
ERROR: HandleCtrl: SWFVerification Type 2 request not supported! Patches
welcome...

... Takes 30 seconds to time out ...

DEBUG: RTMPSockBuf_Fill, recv returned -1. GetSockError(): 11 (Resource
temporarily unavailable)
ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header
DEBUG: Closing connection.

My guess is that it does not allow fallback to SWFVerification 1 (not sure if
this used to do this), as this times out after 30 seconds?

They changed the requirements for browser streaming. Silverlight is now also
required alongside Flash. This was a step taken by Amazon to stop potential
workarounds. They are essentially blocking any browser they do not like, hoping
to make you buy a Kindle. Of course, GTV with their backwards version of flash
supported Chrome will work, but all other Android or any unofficial or
non-supported device will no longer work.

Wish it were that simple. Prime videos work fine on my Fedora 17 system with
Firefox 21.
I do have the latest flash-plugin for both 64 and 32 bit Linux as well as the
hal packages from FC 15 (the latter are needed to access Hulu Plus using FF).
So the problem isn't a
Silverlight requirement.

Fedora works? is there a hal/flash ver. configuration that can be pushed to
xbmc.org repos to get this thing working again? ...testing

I'd suggest at least taking the time to log on to Amazon and contacting help
via email. I did so and received a response that my request to officially
support XMBC as a streaming device/service will be forwarded onto the
development team. It won't guarantee a solution, but the more people that
contact Amazon, the more likely they are to make a needed change.
