HW 12 Objectives

(I'm using the midterm hiatus to reset the numbering scheme to make the homeworks go with the week they are due)
Due April 29th (end of spring break)

  1. Code up an analytical fiducial model for a protoplanetary disk
  2. Learn how to use RADMC-3D to predict the temperature and emission from a disk
  3. Test the results of analytical model vs. radiative transfer.

Assignment Instructions
Last week, you were asked to install RADMC-3D - a public piece of astronomical software that utilizes MCMC methods to perform radiative transfer calculations. This week, we will take some steps to run and evaluate a disk model using radiative transfer calculations. The homework is available as a notebook in this week's folder. If at this point, you're still having trouble with your installation, the course binder hub has been updated to include an installation of RADMC-3D, with further instructions in the w12 index.md document.

Assignment Instructions This assignment is hosted as a Jupyter notebook, a copy of which is in this weeks folder. To receive credit for this assignment, please commit your copy of the notebook (with all code executed and plots generated) to the course github in the week 12 submissions folder with the commit title of HOMEWORK 12 - [NAME] and leave a reply in this assignment thread with a link to the submission.
