The idea of having an empty screen where there is no surveys/forms in the empty screen is to inform the user of that and how they might go about getting surveys/forms into the device.
There is at least two ways how this 'empty screen' will be encountered
Atm when there are no surveys in the screen, we show an empty screen that asks the user to select a survey. This of course is misleading
When the app is installed and the Alph. creates their username and device id, they land into the app which by default has no surveys or forms.
A third way would be if the user was to 'delete everything'
@janagombitova and myself had a chat about what workflows might follow this screen; but we realized we already have something which works for the first option. In other words, from / on this screen, how would the user know that a survey/form has been assigned
Form download notification - this notify the user of newly (assigned) downloading forms. When the download is done using the notification should open the survey
When a new survey is downloaded, we should indicate (in addition to the notifications) that there is some new data in the app: This issue points to that
When only one survey is in the app, opening the app should by default select that survey (I am assuming this might be the use case for most users: 1 survey at a time in the device - curious to know if it is actually the reality)
How this might look like
On a side note: we need to align the terminology; i've changed the wording to say 'survey' since this is what we 'get' and 'title' things in the drawer menu.. but the notifications talk about forms, manually you also download forms not surveys.. perhaps thats something that could go well with introducing 'assignments' concepts in the app..
