With 10.6 / Netbook-installer 0.8.3 RC1 I get audio out of the internal
speakers, but
not the headphone jack.

With 10.6 / Netbook-installer 0.8.2 I got audio out of both.

Ah, sorry, I just read the release notes, so I see that speakers only is
expected.

Is there a solution for audio both from headphone jack AND speakers based on
latest netbookinstaller?

You can use VoodooHDA, but it has issues after sleep.

I rather stick with the netbookinstaller solution.....so far this has been very
good....

this question is mostly directed at paulkcone, but if Meklort or anyone else can
answer, that would be great.

I just ordered a Mini 9, and trying to download and buy everything that I need
to get
it PERFECTLY working.

I have the $29 Snow Leopard disk, and I assume this is 10.6, so with
Netbook-installer 0.8.2, everything related to Audio works? Such as speakers
work,
and headphone works, and sleep/wake audio works? (So don't use NBI 0.8.3 RC1 ?)

If not, it looks like the general consensus is to buy Leopard 10.5.6 and
install it
to get the best working compatibility?

I can't say for sure because I haven't reverted back to 0.8.2, because the wake
from
sleep without hanging issue is much more important to me than audio from the
headphone jack. I am eagerly awaiting a release that fixes both.

BTW, I found a solution that works flawlessly under 10.6.3 for audio in and out
on the mini 9. Tested
speakers, headphones, built in mic, and an external mic.. for the first time
everything works!

I suggest adding this as a replacement for Azalia audio currently in use in
0.8.4 RC1. These steps were
performed on a fresh 10.6 install done with NBI 0.8.4. Upgraded to 10.6.3, let
NBI do its thing at boot and did
this:

1) Remove the AppleHDA.kext from /Extra/Mini9Ext/
2) Add ALC268.kext to /Extra/Mini9Ext/
3) Add HDAEnabler.kext to /Extra/Mini9Ext/
4) Run UpdateExtra
5) Reboot

Everything works now. The two necessary kexts are attached.
