How Can I Code Up A PM Command

How can I Code up a PM command that makes the bot awesome the current song that is playing. This is basically a PM version of the bop example. I want it to be based on this code:

Why not just do:

{
    var text = data.text; //text detected in the bots pm
    if (text.match(/^awesome$/))
    {
        bot.vote('up');
    }
}
