  • Turing
• Who pays for hosting costs? (Most providers have a free tier, but it's a question that should probably be answered now in case we go beyond that tier)
  • Fujitsu
• Preferred hosting technology (e.g. containers vs heroku vs x)
  • Will go with Docker containers to ensure consistency across environments
• Preferred hosting provider (e.g. are there existing accounts that could / should be used)
  • Will go with AWS (this can be changed later). Reasoning: robust, can scale to production system, familiarity, fairly common skillset for future developers

Thanks @osw! Really great point to get the prototype deployed somewhere that folks can interact with it!

On the questions:

• Who owns the account?
  • Turing ideally (me with @GeorgiaHCA having admin rights too), but I'm happy to hear other suggestions
• Who pays for hosting costs? (Most providers have a free tier, but it's a question that should probably be answered now in case we go beyond that tier)
  • @SaimaButt can you check with Craig if Fujitsu has budget to pay for hosting costs? Likely less than $20 / month at the moment I suspect (if not free)
• Preferred hosting technology (e.g. containers vs heroku vs x)
  • My only preference here is that it is easy to manage (thinking about future proofing the project). Happy to go with whatever is decided based on others' needs / preferences. Tagging @fjThomasStanley for input.
• Preferred hosting provider (e.g. are there existing accounts that could / should be used)
  • I have a heroku deployment of https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/autistica-filemanagement-demo billed to my personal credit card at the moment but no need to stay with that 😄
