Support for readers without any coding / data expertise.

Summary

I recently shared some of our stories with my non technical colleagues who have no background in coding or data. They found it interesting to read the Fast Pages, but they struggled take on board any of the pedagogical aspects of the stories. It can be frustrating coming to an educational piece but still not be able to engage with it.

I suggest we could have some kind of 'beginners guide'.

I think we recognise that our stories are perhaps not targeted at the complete beginner (for example, we don't explain 'obvious' code like what it means to import libraries or what it means to use a for loop). I don't think we need to change this, but I do think there could potentially be a bit more help for complete beginners.

What needs to be done?

A beginner's guide could be fairly simple and could potentially include it as a page on our Fast Pages. I'm thinking it could cover:

links to a Python tutorial
links to explain what a jupyter notebook is and how one can run it
an reaffirmation that we would encourage people to test out our notebooks (not just the fast page) and experiment with them.
Maybe even some exercises for each story on how they might be played around with.
