  1. DyME (Dynamic Models for Environments) (PI: Gavin Shaddick, Mark Birkin): The aim of this project is to develop models that will provide new information on ‘personal exposures’ to environmental hazards, specifically those related to exposure to future increased temperatures associated with climate change. Based on a microsimulation modelling approach that integrates environmental conditions with human behaviour, the results will feed into health impact analyses and highlight population groups that may be disproportionately at risk and inform local adaptation strategies to climate change risks.
  2. Fleet Modelling of Wind Farms (PI: Lawrence Bull) - By considering populations as a whole, such as turbines in a wind farm, the data available for training can be (in effect) extended. This mode of inference can improve the predictive performance (e.g. predicting wind farm power output) while reducing the uncertainty in the models that approximate fleet status.

Impact of Climate Change on Agriculture: https://www.turing.ac.uk/research/research-projects/impact-climate-change-agriculture This project will pioneer the development of methodology that will integrate data from plant science, hydrology, soil science, insect population dynamics, economics, consumer behaviour and climate models to form an integrated national crop modelling framework to support new policy or management practices, by offering simulations of their impact under different climate change scenarios.
