Note the organising committee governance should be published on the conference site (as in 2023). Who is society secretary to connect with? - see alan-turing-institute/climate-informatics-2024#6

Hi @cassgvp , apologies for not making last week's meeting. Has any name been put up for "Global South champion/rep"? If not, I am interested in taking up that role.

scotthosking commented 1 year ago

Hi @christianfernandez - I'd like us to come back to this role and plans in the new year as we need to heavily involve the Steering Committee who oversee the multi-year outlook for the CI conferenece.

geo-rao commented 10 months ago

Based on the activities and past categorization, here are my suggestions:

Programme Committee (right now are the people who already volunteered to review for the conference & more reviewers' names can be added later):

Conference Proceedings: Andrew Hyde (Cambridge University Press)

Local Organizing Committee:

Communication (website & social media):

Hackathon/Workshop/Tutorial (depending on what we want to do this year):

Newly-identified roles this year (we can either put this under programme committee or list them separately):

Still to be identified:

Updated with this commit, now live on website.

Where should the below be named? At the moment I have them just on "local organising"?

christianfernandez commented 9 months ago

Hi @cassgvp and @geo-rao , Marla is attending to personal issues at the moment and probably won't be able to commit to any specific role. As I stated in last year, I would be happy to champion the Global South discussion.
