@edwardchalstrey1 gave a tech talk advocating for using https://research-software-directory.org/projects or something similar to make a site that collects all software REG builds to a single place where people can browse them. It would make sense for the OS SA to be involved since this is relevant for visibility of OS work. It's also relevant for comms, so planning a three-way meeting between OS SA, comms, and Ed.

@edwardchalstrey1: @rwood-97 volunteered to represent OS SA in talking and thinking about this. Do you want to set up a meeting/conversation between you, @pwochner, @rwood-97, and whoever from comms wants to be involved, and take it from there?

Updates from meeting:

@edwardchalstrey1 is going to email them and see if we can register the Turing as an org and then also find out a bit more about how it could work
Plan would be for us to upload a few examples, see how much work it would be and what we think about the process, then regroup and discuss next steps

If we go ahead:

A link to our org page on the research software directory (RSD) should be added to our page on Turing website, potentially also to project pages on the Turing website.
One person should be assigned per project as responsible for ensuring software is added to the RSD, the actual adding can be delegated but they would be in charge of make sure its done at the end of the project

From OSSA meeting:

Can software on the RSD be indexed (e.g. in Web of Science or Google Scholar)? No but you can add a concept DOI to your software page.
What makes the RSD 'better' in terms of finding software vs just googling/searching on github?
