FOSDEM'24 blog post #26

Write a blog post about our experiences at FOSDEM for inclusion in one of the following:

  1. Turing Blog.
  2. Mathison news.
  3. The REG Medium.

See #12 for details about our FOSDEM'24 activities.

I contacted the Comms Team. For understandable reasons they didn't want to run a FOSDEM post in close proximity to the post on Upstream Contributions (see #16). So we've decided to pursue a post on Mathison and/or the REG Medium instead.

I'll email Internal Comms to ask about potentially posting on Mathison and @KatrionaGoldmann has kindly offered to help with arranging the Medium blog.

I've dropped Internal Comms an email to ask whether they'd be able to help with getting something on Mathison.

Thanks to all of the amazing contributions from everyone this is now due to go live on Mathison on Tuesday next week (2024-04-16).

The final text we submitted is the following (Internal Comms may make further changes to it of course):

I'll leave this ticket open until it goes live. And we also discussed the possibility to use the longer version on the Medium blog; that would still be a nice thing to do if it makes sense.

I think it makes sense to complement this with a medium article for an external audience. @IFenton and I can publish this from the REG account.
