Open llewelld opened 2 months ago
The call for devrooms is now open. Deadline is 10 October 2024 (surprisingly soon!).
The call for stands is now open too. Deadline for submissions 7th November 2024.
Would love to attend again.
Not sure if I will submit a proposal. Would be good to help with a devroom.
@aleesteele is an organiser the Open Research Devroom again this year :tada:.
Key dates:
Rosie and I attended the inaugural Python devroom meeting. The Python devroom proposal has been submitted. We've advertised this internally in case others are interested to contribute and/or attend. Rosie has created a Turing Slack channel for discussion and has approached some people individually too. So the ball is rolling on this and I'm tagging it as "In Progress".

In case this is helpful for anyone else planning their own journey, going by the schedule from last year, times are likely to be: Saturday 1 February 2025, 09:30 - 19:00 Sunday 2 February 2025, 09:00 - 18:00
Personally I'm planning to go for these travel arrangements: OUT: Eurostar, 2025/01/31, 19:34 - 21:35, St Pancras - Brussels Midi RET: Eurostar, 2025/02/03, 07:52 - 08:52, Brussels Midi - St Pancras Accommodation: Hotel Ibis off Grand Place
I stayed near Grand Place last year. It was convenient, trams to Brussels Midi and buses to ULB (albeit crowded when everyone is trying to get to FOSDEM in the morning 😅).
FOSDEM 2025 will take place on the weekend of 1-2 February 2025. As usual it will be at ULB in Brussels.
Last year we had great participation (see #12) with contributions to all of these:
If I recall correctly at least four people from the Turing attended.
It's still early days, with only the dates for the event having been announced, but it'd be great if we could have similarly enthusiastic involvement in 2025.
