Custom questions on Discolored Water SRs #1

From an configuration/implementation standpoint, this would be a straight-forward update that would take very minimal time. These changes should come over during the migration without issue.

Additionally, there are quite a few instances where a main break is cited, but the break is many miles away; we may need an analyst to look at these no matter if they are input in the field or not.

The current solution requires that exports be made from Cityworks, data analyzed and added to a separate sheet, and then they be combined. I’m looking to simplify that process by having all the data come from a single source that is also kept up to date if others need to see it.

I'd like Anna's input on this, but we are getting involved with discolored water complaints in which the cause is not obvious. Wrong data entered from the field could really lead subsequent analyses astray.

Madeleine Driscoll, P.E.

In future, we want custom fields to be something that the investigator or crew can easily answer in the field as the work is done or completed. Then that data is available for analysis. Let’s look at this in the context of mobile cityworks and make it part of that rollout which should be happening within next few months.

Amy

Also, at this point it doesn’t look as if custom questions are getting answered for these SRs – are we looking to effect a workflow change from the investigators, or make an analyst’s job easier for tracking what the cause is?

Alan E. Foster

We need to review these with water supply don’t we because they do the investigation. They would be the ones to answer correct?

Amy

Amy, Can we create a set of custom questions for the Discolored SRs in Cityworks? This would help us out a lot.

Specifically, we would like to have (in addition to standard questions):

“Cause:”

With the values being:

broken valve construction broken service flushing in area main break other temp lines in area valve down

Further, can we start using resolution in for SRs? We don’t have to make them required, but for discolored, if we could track Resolution, Flushing Needed, and Cause we could then use Cityworks to maintain the data for the purposes of having cleaned up water quality data. These fields would be populated by an analyst at DMD.
