Questions: Loudness equalization and options window #8

Hey i recently update my fountain of colors from 3.5.5 and was wondering why loudness equalization was removed / changed to Clip offset, which i cant find either.

3.5.8 (13 Nov 2016)

  • Add new setting: Clip offset (ClipOffset = 0.844 dB)
  • Increase precision by narrowing the range of displayed values
  • (Enabled by default and replaces LoudnessEqualization) Increasing sensitivity doesn't give the same effect

And the options window used to look way better but now it looks like windows xp. Why is that?

I don't really know any better place to ask this since I can't dm on twitter.

Hi, those options were deprecated as the skin progressed through many different visual/audio combinations of settings plus improvements. Previously the functions were created to artificially alter the results of the FFT, but now the audio settings have been reverting back to their correct or vanilla state. If they are to be re-included, it would have to be a new separate skin with perhaps more non-vanilla functions. It may still take some more experimenting to get the skin to appear closer to your preferences (I list the default base settings on the DeviantArt page for the current skin version)

The options window was rewritten because it was crashing based on a weird change from a few versions ago of Rainmeter. Also there were issues of users not knowing where or being able to increase/decrease the values. In the future I may be able to customize some thematic settings of the options window, I'll have to look more into it
