Steps to reproduce

  1. open Albert
  2. right-click on the tray icon and select show
  3. nothing happens

Expected behavior

Albert search opens

Actual behaviour

nothing happens

Sorry I actually forgot about this issue. I don't have a fedora install anymore to try. I'll try to see if I can get a live cd working or a vm to test this though

EDIT: quickly tried in a live cd and even with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland albert it still does not show

Actually it does at least open via hotkey on Fedora 36 using docker and xQuartz on MacOs

sorry for the delayed response. Like I said I was only able to test in a live cd as I don't have the harddrive space to do a full fedora install. I'll see about doing a VM but here more details on what I tried (sorry should of been more discriptive)

couldn't get the hotkey working honestly I didn't even really look into this much

the settings window does open I don't remember if originally it wasn't but it opens without the env you mentioned above.

albert show and albert toggle don't work (i forgot exactly what it was the prints in the terminal Ill try it again.)

as for if it opens on x I think I did try that before and it worked. I'll check again in a VM

so I tried again in a vm albert show and albert toggle both give this

however setting a hotkey in gnome settings to albert show does work and it launches correctly.

Closing since Fedora 33 is superceded. Let me know if this issue persists.
