These are things I need to know:
Qt version - Don't have it How you installed Albert (e.g. ppa:name, aur or from source) - apt install albert
Is this really the albert version you are using?
Since every 2nd issue is of this type I wrote a small block in the troubleshooting section. https://albertlauncher.github.io/docs/faq/#seems-like-i-dont-use-the-official-repos Please confirm my assumption.
I tried your way also. But the result is the same. At the very first startup, it asks me to set a hotkey and after that the same black box. Albert version - 0.14.21 It also installed two things - (qml-module-qtgraphicaleffects qml-module-qtquick-controls) I am assuming these are the Qt files which are required. But still, I can't figure out Qt version. One important thing to note is Albert was working fine 1 month back when installing with Mint-Package-Manager (or apt install). So what is wrong now? Also tried to delete any .cache or .config files. But nothing works...
Update. It's working but I had to select the QML Box model. The default option is still not working though... Also, what is the reason for this thick black border? And the setting button is not present.
Another Update. The black border is fixed now. Had to change the shadow size. But all fine now. Thank you very much for replying. You are awesome!!
The black border is fixed now
Worked around, not fixed. Added another stanca in the faq. 😄
And the setting button is not present.
just eye candy. it is there, but hidden, hover over it.
I have been using Albert for many months and after a recent update, it is not at all working. Just shows a black box at the center when launched with the hotkey.
