What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.downloaded And turned on Artisan 7.4
2.plugged in USB of Amprobe TMD 56 and selected correct device
3. Tried to configure serial port to USB but only have the option of COM3

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

Did you install the serial driver for the device (don't remember which one is
the correct one, but it might be the FTDI or the PL2303)? Did you read the
Installation Wiki here on this page? There is a specific section on that
Amprobe, explaining how to configure it to communicate on channel 0.

I read through the installation process on Wiki. I have made sure the Amprobe
is on channel 0.

The issue, I believe, is that the computer is not reading the Amprobe when I
plug it into the USB port, which makes me believe that it is a serial driver
issue, but I cannot figure out which is the correct driver to install.

I have a friend that has been using this Amprobe for a couple years with a Dell
that is running Windows 8 as well and he has had no issues.

So as this seems not to be an issue in the Artisan software (wonder why you
downloaded v7.4 and not v9.0 thus) as that device is reported to work well for
others on all platforms, I reject this issue. I guess your wire is broken or
your driver does not work as it should for some reason.

I only downloaded 7.4 because my coworker has been using it with no reported
issues.

I will download 9.0 and see if that solves the issue.

Do you know which driver I should be using?

And the wire is not broken because several other roasters are using the same
device and cable with no issues.

I understand this is a user error, but I thought I could get some support here.
