Ganglia: consider (re)adding temperature metric monitoring #17

(Wasn't sure where to log this, but seems as good a place as any for now!)

In the past we've pumped temperature metrics into Ganglia to allow us to keep an eye on hot spots etc. We should consider (re)adding this capability.
