(PSX) Disable Smoothing not working on certain games #35

I know I opened an issue on this before, but now I think it could be an issue with the PS3 in general, not just mine per se.

The only way to play games without the filter for certain is to use a cheat disc such as the GameShark V5. This issue seems to be an old one, as it persists in other forks on IRISMAN.

Are you able to disable the smoothing using multiMAN, ManaGunZ or webMAN?

I don't see any settings for PSX in multiMAN, or webMAN Mod which is the one I use when not using cheats. If you are asking is the filter disabled when using the the other loaders, no, it's the same. Also, the filtering is disabled in the PS3 settings. Another thing that can sometimes happen is if I reset the game via the PS button menu reset, the filter will turn on even though it's disabled when first using the cheat disc and then booting the game.

It seems to be certain games (Silent Hill for one) that have forced filtering. Unfortunately for me the PS3 I have won't read CD or DVD, just BD.

I would like to try some games from the original disc(s) to see if the issue is with the system or the loaders but as you can see, I can't.

If there is a way to change settings via multiMAN/webMAN please let me know. When the filtering is forced on (loader setting off) I try to toggle the the smoothing settings but it does nothing. Does the PS3 itself contain any type of config files for certain, maybe problematic games?

The main emulator I use is "ps1_emu.self". The reason being is because it's the only one that disables the filtering when using cheats. The netemu version has filtering/smoothing forced regardless if using a cheat disc or not.

I am using version 4.86
