PS3 beeps thrice and restarts after transferring files with FileZilla Client when returning to XMB from IRISMAN #93

The PS3 beeps thrice and restarts when returning to XMB using the PS button (but not if using the Circle button) after transferring files with FileZilla Client or WinSCP to the PS3 from IRISMAN with an USB device attached to the PS3.

I'm on Evilnat 4.89.3 Cobra 8.4 [PEX] [CEX] and I reinstalled FileZilla Client, Evilnat 4.89.3 Cobra 8.4 [PEX] [CEX] and IRISMAN, used the Restore File System and Rebuild Database settings from the Recovery Menu and swapped the HDD for the previous one and for a new SSD and I still have this issue.

I don't think this is exactly a bug, but more just a limitation of homebrew/the PS3 in general, as what you described can also happen when deleting large files (on all backup/file managers). All I can recommend to you is disconnect filezilla from your PS3 when the transfer is complete, and wait for the orange HDD indicator to stop flashing/turn off. To my knowledge, what's happening is that the file has transferred, but is still being processed by the PS3 in someway - then when you quit, it causes the freeze.

But I wasn't having this issue before, and sometimes, when exiting PS3 games, the PS3 also beeps thrice and restarts, so how can I prevent it in this situation?

What if I don't disconnect from FileZilla Client and just wait until the orange HDD indicator stops flashing?

I'm not sure about the issues when quitting a game - maybe webMAN related (if you even have it installed)?

Just waiting for the HDD indicator should be enough.

I don't have webMAN MOD installed and I was talking about exiting the games via PS button. I think this also happens with PS2 games and maybe PS1 ones too.

Waiting for the indicator in this case doesn't even make sense and some PS3 don't even have the HDD indicator so what should I do in those cases?

I waited until the HDD indicator stopped flashing and it's still beeping thrice and restarting.

Also, sometimes, when using FileZilla Client or WinSCP to transfer PKG files to the PS3 while IRISMAN is running, the uploads start very slowly (like under 1 MiB/s instead of 18 something MiB/s) and take time to reach the right speed (18 something MiB/s).

EDIT: If I close FileZilla Client or WinSCP after transferring files, I can go back to XMB from IRISMAN without the PS3 beeping thrice and restarting.

EDIT 2: If I return to XMB from multiMAN and Rebug Toolbox after transferring files to the PS3 with FileZIlla Client or WinSCP, the PS3 doesn't beep thrice and restart, so maybe it's IRISMAN's fault (as well as the second issue). Also, the third issue happens if using multiMAN, Rebug Toolbox and Cobra's FTP too.

EDIT 3: I inserted a SSD on the PS3 and I still have the same issue as before but now when transferring PKG files to the PS3 I'm getting 21 something MiB/s instead of 18 something MiB/s, at least.

EDIT 4: I have a new PC and when transferring PKG files to the PS3, the transfers now reach 22 MiB/s.

Irisman is an amazing app and is so helpful, I couldn't have made it without it, alas it freezes frequently for me too. I'm so grateful for all the work those amazing devs have not tbh. but I don't know what's wrong with my installation of irisman. Currently at HFW 4.90.1, HEN 3.2.2 and Irisman 4.90, ps3 super slim.

Disconnect all USB devices connected (e.g. pendrive in NTFS or exFAT) and try again. If the issue doesn't happen, the issue could be related to rawseciso plugin or NTFS driver memory allocation. In this case I suggest to unmount the NTFS devices manually before exit to XMB.

Some freeze issues are related to custom covers with improper dimensions (too big or height/width not multiple of 4). Other known issues could be related to non-ANSI characters in file names or folders of the scanned games or to a large amount of games.

Besides this issue, as soon as I click "Enable FTP" in "Cobra Tools" with an USB device attached to the PS3, the latter freezes (I tested this in another PS3 Slim and a friend of mine also did it in his PS3 Slim and we're having this problem too).

Also, sometimes, when using FileZilla Client or WinSCP to transfer PKG files to the PS3 while IRISMAN is running, the transfers start very slowly (like under 1 MiB/s instead of 22 MiB/s) and take time to reach the right speed (22 MiB/s) and if I leave FileZilla Client or WinSCP connected to the PS3 for some time, I can't reconnect to it until I close FileZilla Client or WinSCP and run them again. The latter also happens with the PSP, PS Vita and PS TV.

I'm on Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [PEX] and I reinstalled FileZilla Client, Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [CEX] and IRISMAN, used the Restore File System and Rebuild Database settings from the Recovery Menu and swapped the SSD for the stock HDD and for the previous HDD and I still have this issue.
