Option to hide webMAN Games folder? #510

Open TwisX opened 3 years ago

TwisX commented 3 years ago

From the 1.47.35 update, where is the option to hide the webMAN Games folder and show PS3, PS2, etc. directly on the games column?

aldostools commented 3 years ago

Update to the latest build from Github releases page, Brewology or using the built-in updater.

Go to http://127.0.0.1/setup.ps3 in the PS3, uncheck the option "webMAN Games" and save; then refresh the XML & reload XMB image

That worked, thank you.

On another note, after updating to the new version I'm now having to re-run prepISO every time I reboot the console in order for the PS3 games on my NTFS drive to show up. Getting WMM/prepISO to detect my games has always been a little tricky, but this is new. I'll open a new issue if preferred.

Check the option disable content scan on startup found in /setup.ps3

TwisX commented 3 years ago

No change, unfortunately.

aldostools commented 3 years ago

Did you save after disable the content scan on startup?

TwisX commented 3 years ago

Yes, hit Save, reboot, run prepISO to get the games to show up, reboot, folder disappears.

aldostools commented 3 years ago

Ok I will check what's happening and let you know later.

I have tested the following options and the folders do not disappear: image

Try using the built-in online updater, then reboot after the installation. So you will be using the same version that I tested.

TwisX commented 3 years ago

The only option that was different on my end was PhotoGUI, but disabling that made no difference. The built-in updater fails with error code 80029567, but I'm on the latest 1.47.35 version manually installed from the GitHub releases. Here are some screenshots of my configuration settings:

I've tested on Rebug 4.86.1 LITE... could be it an issue with your 4.87 CFW?

Also I tried the online updater and it worked fine on my console.

TwisX commented 3 years ago

I suppose it could be. I'm running the Evilnat 4.87.2 CFW.

Might try downgrading and starting over at this point.

TwisX commented 3 years ago

Formatted my PS3 HDD and did a clean install of Ferrox Cobra 4.87 CFW. Still having the exact same issue. I can still try downgrading and installing Rebug, but I doubt that it’s a CFW issue since this is happening on Evilnat and Ferrox. My second guess would be that it’s my external drive, but it works perfectly after running prepISO. The online updater still fails, which is odd. Could be my networking filtering out something.

Are there any logs I could provide that would maybe shed some light on what’s happening?

aldostools commented 3 years ago

No, there are no logs. You could test using a different USB device (e.g. a pendrive or another external USB drive)

It is incorrect to assume that because prepISO works, the built-in NTFS library in the plugin should work the same. The built-in library has more limitations in the memory allocation, thus its compatibility with certain drives is different.

Also Ferrox 4.87 and Evilnat 4.87.2 are quite similar and both have known issues. Nathan and Alexander have plans to release an update of their respective CFW.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Downgrading to Rebug 4.86.1 LITE has fixed most of the issues. The online updater now works, and as long as I check the Disable content scan on startup option, the PS3 folder in webMAN Games stays there after a reboot. However, if I disable the webMAN Games option and refresh XML / reload XMB, the PS3 folder is not persistent after a reboot. I'll just stick with the classic webMAN Games folder, but thought it was worth noting.

PS3 folder may take a few seconds to appear the first time due the folders are created in mygames.xml This XML is generated when the scan for content completes.

You can try refreshing manually the Game column using L2+R2+L3+R3 if the scan completed and the folders don't appear.
