hello aldo,

thanks for you work with ps3 plugins and apps. Here's a little list of what i think could improve webman mod

  1. PS1 and PS2 game name While mounting a PS2 .iso, PS2 .bin or a PS1 *.bin webman should read the title id from the game image, then fetch the game name from a database (that contain game id and it corresponding game name) and finally display the game name instead of the "PlayStation X Format disc". It could be something like "gamename [titleid]"; for example "GTA Vice City [SLES-51061]".

  2. show info from param.sfo Like in debug xmb, it would be great to have the ability to see some more info about game (fetched from param.sfo) like:

  1. Add the ability to auto launch sLaunch mod at boot Let the user to choose that, disabled by default

  2. sLaunch improvements Actually sLaunch show just CPU temp both in celsius and farenheit, it would be better to have both CPU and RSX temp only in celsius along with IP address. Also have the ability to change between categories with L1 and R1 instead of square, and the category favourites should be not visible with select plus start but as a normal category. To scroll inside a category the user should use d-pad. Also display at the bottom of the screen the button usage, like "X Mount game, Δ menu, O Exit, L1/R1 Change category, ▢ Add/remove from favourites" (about the last one, sLaunch should check if a game is already marked as favourites and display only "Add" or "Remove" and the games marked as favourites should have a star at top-right of the icon). Add also the ability to download game update, just by pressing Δ -> Download game update. About the side menu it would be nice to add a dynamic way to display it, like the official ps3 side menu where the appear with a fade and moving from right to left.

  1. It's a lot of work to keep updated the database and many users would prefer their games named in a different way. The user should name their games like they want.
  2. Game ID, path and other info from PARAM.SFO is show pressing R2+O. The other info is too detailed to show it in a notification dialog.
  3. It is possible adding slaunch.sprx to boot_plugins.txt. However I recommend that activate it manually using L2+R2.
  4. CPU/RSX temperatures are shown alterated.
  5. For download updates use multiMAN or IRISMAN. Or mount the game and select update from the side menu pressing Δ.

here are some more ideas

  1. mount ps2 and ps1 game manual if present Add the ability to mount game manual, that has to be in the same folder of the iso with same filename, as for ps2 and ps1 classic (same file format and proprieties)

  2. add auto-take screenshot feature when earning a trophy self explanatory

  3. show temp in xmb impose menu as in patched ps2emu where the temps are shown in top left without the need for combo

  4. show temp and fps in game (top left, white char highlighted in black) self explanatory

  5. install pkg from ntfs as prepNTFS looks for isos, could it looks even for pkgs inside root (and packages folder) of the ntfs drive and make them installable via xmb?

about point one could you just add that feature and let the community to make the database?

about point two i was referring to show info in the official side menu (by pressing triangle -> information) and not as a notification by a button combo.

Also i have a problem with game icon: i choose to show icon0.png, not mm cover, but they are vertically stretched and looks strange, it is possible to fix that?

This has been a feature in wMM/prepISO for quite a while. Run prepISO, then go to the BluRay/Movie category and "mount" your package file. It should begin installation automatically. If you're looking for queued-up package file installation, you'll need to create an ISO with your packages (in the root directory of the ISO) and mount it as a Blu-Ray, then run automatic installation as you normally would (requires QA flags to be enabled).

Suggestions 6, 7, 8 are out of the scope of this project or not possible. Suggestion 9: you can see the temperature in-game if you press PS and keep pressing SELECT+START until you hear a beep. If you return to the game, the popup will be displayed persistently until you hold SELECT+START again until you hear a double beep. Suggestion 10: read @rhynec post above.

The stretched ICON0 is a known issue caused by the difference in the proportions of the web icon and ICON0. To reduce this annoyance use the MM covers (install covers packs). These covers have a proportion closer to the square shape of the web icons.
