webMAN causes multiMAN to be unstable HFW 4.89 #819

I formatted my hdd, installed everything from scratch, and when I installed webman, multiman gets stuck on black screen during launch. I completely reinstalled everything again to a different hdd, problem occured again after installing webman. I once again formatted but this time I didn't install webman, multiman started working perfectly. I did all of this 15 days ago webman version I installed was 1.47.42 I saw that webman got another update like 5 days ago but the version didn't seem to be different and I couldn't see anything in the patch notes about this so I didn't try to reinstall webman again since trying to uninstall webman also crashed the console

The black screen is a known issue on HEN when dynamic fan control is enabled. The issue doesn't happen if you select SYSCON or manual fan speed in /setup.ps3

The issue happens on all applications when they start (games, apps, homebrews).

@aldostools can webman disable the Dynamic fan control option when PS3HEN is detected to avoid problems?

I'm using it via boot_init.txt to automatically change to manual mod if PS3HEN is detected, but many users set to dynamic and start having issues.

Maybe this option being automatically grayed out bty webMAN itself when installed on hen, would be nice to avoid it

@LuanTeles Thank you for your comments. Indeed webMAN MOD set manual 35% fan speed by default when PS3HEN is detected. But that setting is selected only on new installations. Once the user saves his/her preferences, the values are not changed.

These are the initial fan settings when the plugin is installed the first time or if wm_config.bin is deleted. image

Got it but don't you think that when PS3HEN is detected an alternative .html could be installed/loaded without the check box for dynamic fan control? (or simple grayed out) so the user would not enable it manually and have the black screen issues.

In addition the alternative /setup .html page for HEN could have all CFW only options disabled/grayed out.

What do you think Aldo?

The users can use dynamic fan control on HEN while they are on XMB. They just need to switch to manual fan before start a game or application using SELECT+UP/DOWN

SELECT+LEFT/RIGHT can be used to switch back to dynamic fan control while they are on XMB

L3+R2+START is used to toggle fan control on/off (SYSCON mode).
