There were a few missing glyph definitions in the style file I needed (I also added a comment indicating another missing one that I didn't have at hand) - images for those glyphs were present so only the style file needed to be changed.
Another glyph didn't have images, so I downloaded one from the Apple font as indicated on the unicode site and resized+pdf-converted using imagemagick. I tested it, and for me it works ..
To be honest, imagemagick could have done a better job on the images...
I can send/add the png I got from the unicode site or run a better convert command if you know a good one (:
