FEATURE: filter and expand export from cross-reference #3125

Open zufanka opened 1 year ago

zufanka commented 1 year ago

Some datasets in Aleph are multifaceted - e.g. the OpenSanctions data contains politically exposed people as well as sanctioned people. Sometimes I am only interested in one or the other, however the cross-reference does not allow me to differentiate between them. I could split up the OpenSanctions data into multiple datasets, but that seems silly.

So either the filtering options on the left hand side allow for better narrowing down, or the export contains all the details known to Aleph to I will be able to filter the cross-reference output further.

minimum: the Info tab ideally: also the Memberships

Moreover - the export does not take into account the filter applied on the left hand sidebar. I have opened another feature request for this.

There are no real alternatives for this afaik.

Hi @zufanka, thanks for the feedback! I have one follow-up question to make sure I understood you correctly:

So either the filtering options on the left hand side allow for better narrowing down

So in addition to the dataset, entity type, and countries filters, you’d like to be able to add filters based on any other property of the matched entity (e.g. nationality, email etc.), correct?

Hi @tillprochaska !

it's an either or:

"either the filtering options on the left hand side allow for better narrowing down, or the export contains all the details known to Aleph to I will be able to filter the cross-reference output further."

I am not sure what is easier for you guys.
