Describe the bug Seem from #416, I think the Libertinus Keyboard should update the design of WinKey to adopt the 2012 Windows logo design, then the old glyph is preserve as hist feature.

Expected vs. actual behavior By default, the WinKey symbol should including 2012 Windows logo, while hist feature enabled, the 2001 logo design is present.

I think you should even update to follow Windows 11 logo.

Meh, Microsoft changes these logos printed on the key more-or-less every other major version. I count various styles, i.e. 95 era, XP era, 8 era and now newer machines seem to be stamped with a 11 era Windows® branding.

For time-appropriate type-setting Libertinus would need to have the first three in hist features and subsequent ones added when they come up. This would be of course hogwash. I object to taking that much development time from a enthusiast project in order to jump through the hoops for the benefit of the branding of one proprietary company.

The best solution in my opinion would be an ideograph that communicates Windows® key without implementing the »design phase updates« from every half-decade. If someone would want to use Libertinus with a time-appropriate Windows® key logo in a professional context (e.g. re-printing of old computer manuals), they should commission/sponsor the implementation.

Well, the Win11 logo is four rectangles, which is of course both uncopyrightable and timeless; this project could settle on that.

Yes, I thought so as well. Incidentally, this is also the way Wikipedia does it: »Wikipedia uses the Unicode character U+229E ⊞ SQUARED PLUS as a simulation of the logo.« Seeing the newest flat style iteration inspired by Windows 11, I would find this quite fitting.
