Splunk restart required for app setup page to disappear #274

Hello,

First of all, thanks for developing and sharing Alert Manager!

Now to my issue: I have installed Alert Manager on Splunk Enterprise 7.1.1 (CentOS 8). When I opened Alert Manager for the first time, I landed on the "App configuration / Continue to app setup page" page. So I clicked on "Continue to app setup page", filled out the details and then clicked on "Perform Setup". Now strangely enough, the "App configuration / Continue to app setup" page was displayed again. I couldn't reach the Incident Posture dashboard. Doing the app setup again did not work. Alert Manager only displayed the app setup page no matter how many times I performed the setup.

I can confirm that the app was actually configured:

$ cat /opt/splunk/etc/apps/alert_manager/local/app.conf
[install]
is_configured = true

The only thing that helped was restarting Splunk. Now after the restart when I open Alert Manager I land on the Incident Posture dashboard.

Am I the only one who experiences this problem?

Will not fix this, as the setup page is deprecated and has changed with Alert Manager 3.0.

This issue appeared on Alert Manager 3.0.4.

What do you mean the setup page is deprecated?

When I install Alert Manager and open the Alert Manager app for the first time then I get redirected to the setup page.

Should the Alert Manager display the Incident Posture when opened for the first time? If so, that is not happening for me. Is this a bug?

having the same issues, tried installing versions 3.0.0, 3.0.4, 3.0.5 and 3.0.7. after finishing initial app setup, splunk still prompts with "Alert Manager has not been fully configured yet" Tried on splunk enterprise 8.0.4
