where the output has had the effect of preventing negative outcomes (e.g. reporting negative results, so other researchers do not waste resources repeating an experiment);
where the output is well known (perhaps because of its topic matter) but does not have an appreciable effect on the field, academia, or society;
where the output is widely disputed (potentially overlapping with any of the above).
