Sprint Samsung galaxy s3 jelly bean build

Latest build

Current

The app does not support any jelly bean ROM for the galaxy s3

It begins like its going to tether but never releases wifi signal to connect to.

I have had an issue where the tether just disconnects for no known reason. I am
running the newest one, I think. Any suggestions?

@101, uncheck Sprint Optimizer in settings->more settings->mobile
networks->connection optimizer.

@98 I am also having an issue with not being able to turn on the wifi after
disconnecting the tethering app.

@100 It is not that we want to use wifi at the same time we are tethering, it
is that we want to use wifi when it is available. Right now, with the settings
that I have, I cannot turn on wifi at all even when I am not tethering. If I
restart my phone after turning off tethering, I can turn wifi on and off again.

I changed to the second force driver load option and this seems to fix my wifi
toggle issue.

wifi_tether_v3_1-beta2.apk fiexed my issues. I almost gave up looking when I
finally found this fix.

@107 that version does not seem not compatible with the Sprint Samsung galaxy
s3 jelly bean build. I tried it and it didn't work.

Just installed the latest version 3.3-pre1 Experimental and it works. My
computer and tablet recognize the SSID and connect to it producing a connection
to the internet but..... after about 2 minutes or so it says "What the hell,
You phone takes back control of the wifi interface, shutting down wifi now".
Tethering stops and I cannot turn back on wifi until I restart the phone. ...
What gives... I will try to install pre2 and see if that works. What is the
warning "what the hell". ***UPDATE***, tried Pre2 and same thing happens

reload check, profile Samsung galaxy s3 everything else stay the same. Its
working for me and I have 4.1.1 jb rooted stock room

I have tried the pre-1 and pre-2 with build JRO03L. I have tried every
setting I can think of in every combination. Nothing works. Sometimes I get
"authentication failed" on the connecting device. Sometimes it continously
retries authentication. I am never able to get a working connection.

Oops -- I uninstalled everything and then re-installed pre-1 and it worked ok.

On Galaxy S3, need to uninstall whatever previous version you have, then follow
comment #111. Works for me now, I was baffled before.

woohoo! I was about to give up on this!! Thanks Alexis #111 !! I found the apk
at
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/detail?name=wifi_tether_v
3_3-pre1.apk I was not having any luck with the latest beta 3. Thanks again
and hope this fix sticks! :-) BTW I rebooted the phone several times and
reconnected with no issues.

I am also in the same boat as #112, except I am not seeing any authentication
messages. I am unable to see any SSID when active. I did set all setting to
match #111, but no joy. Any thoughts or ideas?

Ok, I have Version 3.3-pre 1 Experimental and everything still works awesome
but after I turn off WIFI Tether I cannot start my WIFI. I click on it but it
does nothing. After a restart, everything works as before. I have seen this
mentioned before but no one has posted a fix. Anyone, Anyone, Bueler...

I finally got the program to work on my Sprint GS3 by using v3.3-pre1 (what was
on the market did not work at all), but I am having the same problem as others
here in that I cannot get wifi to work again after stopping the program.

I did all mentioned in #111 but still was getting errors in the log. I changed
the Setup-Method to "Netd-Ndc" and now it's working fine

ver 3.3-pre2
Reproducible: When choosing "encrypted connection" and connecting with settings
exactly like in post #122, everything works, until screen goes to sleep. After
turning it back on, application signalizes - "What the hell, You phone takes
back control of the wifi interface, shutting down wifi now"

So, issue seems to be somewhere in the wakelock.

Issue is not observed when using non-encrypted mode.

After installing wifi_tether_v3_3-pre2.apk Wi-Fi is stuck. When I attempt to
enable it gets stuck on "Turning on..." and is never enabled. Uninstalling WiFi
Tether did NOT resolve this issue. Please advise.
