Which device (manufacturer, type)?
  HTC One

Which firmware is installed?
  Android 4.1.2

What version of wireless tether are you using?
  wifi_tether_v3_3-beta2.apk
  (also tried: wireless_tether_2_0_7.apk, wifi_tether_v3_4-experimental1.apk)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install wifi_tether_v3_3-beta2.apk
2. Configure settings as follows:
  Device-Profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
  Setup-Method: Netd-Ndc (Master)
Send Netd Max Client Cmd: Box checked
  Change SSID: AndroidTether
  WiFi-driver reload: box unchecked
  Wifi-driver reload 2: box checked
  MSS clamping: box checked
  Routing fix: box checked

3. Tap to start tethering

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: All system log entries should be green ("done"). Devices should be able to see the SSID broadcast by the HTC One.
Actual: All system log entries are green (good!). However, devices cannot see the SSID broadcast by the HTC One.

Please provide any additional information below.
I have tried many combinations of the settings options, mostly at the
recommendation of other tutorials or videos, but I have not been able to get a
device to connect to the HTC One. I have tried laptops and other android
phones, but they do not see the SSID. Please let me know if there are logs or
anything I can provide to help look into this.

so i performed a restore to original ROM restore point using TWRP it reverted
back to SuperSU v1.30 and its working great again. I'm using wifi driver reload
1, Device -Profile: ICS/JB (wlan0), Setup Method: Auto, and Channel 1. It
definitely must be the new binaries for SuperSUv1.52. I flashed The first zip
that updated the kernel installed busybox and disable RW permission. I have an
HTCOne m7wls running on 4.1.2 incremental 1.31.651.2 kernel version 3.4.10.
After the process of flashing that zip file i performed a clean unroot with
SuperSU flashed the second zipfile which was SuperSU v0.99 and updated binaries
manually which i was able to because busybox was installed that instantly
caused wifi tether to no longer broadcast the SSID and disconnected my laptop
conection. In addition, the camera no longer functioned which ultimately led to
restore to backup ROM.

I had a similar issue with an HTC EVO 4G LTE (android 4.1.1 and stock ROM
3.16.651.3.710RD) upgrading from SuperSU 1.04 to 1.55 in that no SSID was
broadcast after the SuperSU upgrade.

I did a "Switch superuser app" clean, and downgraded to SuperSU 1.30. At that
point, the SSID was broadcast and I could connect to the EVO, but no data would
transfer. I then reinstalled android wifi tether, and everything started
working fine.

So, as a test I upgraded to SuperSU 1.55. SSID was broadcast and I could
connect to the EVO, but no data would transfer. So, I reinstalled android wifi
tether, and everything is working fine with SuperSU 1.55.

At least in my case, the SuperSU upgrade seems to disturb something with the
tether app installation which requires a reinstall of the tether app.

Further update...

A couple of hours after I had everything working, the SSID disappeared again.
I'm testing with a stock Droid Razr M, an off-brand andorid tablet, and Windows
laptop PC as clients. I did a uninstall/reinstall of the android wifi tether
app, but that did not fix the problem. I played with some of the other common
settings, but nothing worked.

Finally, I went to the "Change LAN" setting and changed from 192.168.1.0/24 to
10.10.3.0/24, and the SSID immediately showed up. The SSID remained visible the
entire time with this LAN setting. This morning, I changed back to
192.168.1.0/24 and the SSID is visible.

The following may not be related to this issue...

I'm on 4G. As far as performance, from speedtest.net, the Razr and the laptop
typcially download at about 0.7M and can upload at anywhere from 1M - 3M. As
others have reported, it seems that this should be much faster for a 4G
connection. A single time with the Razr, I got a a 7M download, but I have
never been able to duplicate that.

The android tablet is running CM10-2012-0913 Android 4.1.1. It will connect to
the EVO, but all access to the internet times out. In looking at the display
on the EVO, it appears to be downloading, but very, very, very slowly.
