Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Magic MT3G
Which firmware is installed?
Cyanogen 4.2.5
What version of wireless tether are you using?
Latest
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Bluetooth Tether
2. Find/configure services on Bluetooth settings
3. Computer will attempt to search but ultimately find nothing.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should find that I should be able to use it as a modem over Bluetooth
PAN, but I only have it as a headset

FIXED!!

I managed to get a quick fix using another app.

From what I understand, the problem is not the bluetooth itself, but the
application
not broadcasting the proper services as detectable by OSX.

The tethering itself over bluetooth works perfectly fine, but if OSX can't
detect it,
it can't connect. It's this barrier we have to get over. If we do then
everything
works fine.

Until this app is updated to broadcast/advertise it's services to Mac OSX, we
have to
use another app to broadcast this service for us!

Here comes the cavalry!
http://slideme.org/application/tetherblu-0

TetherBlu Free broadcasts the Network BT PAN services using this app. All you
need to
do is download and install this application.

After pairing your device, start up this application and start the tethering.
Go to
Bluetooth Preferences Pane in Settings and under devices, click the little gear
icon
and click 'Configure this Device'. Go through it, and at the end make sure 'Use
this
device as a Network Port' is checked.

And viola, OSX now recognizes the device as a network port.

Now there's one small issue. TetherBlu Free doesn't allow tethering connections
over
3g, only wifi. You need to buy TetherBlu Premium (7 dollars) to do that.

However, since Mac OSX recognizes the device as a network device, you can go
ahead
and turn off the service for TetherBlu, and start up android-wifi-tether.
Connect and
WEE IT WORKS!

For those who want to use USB tethering instead, you can use the application
Proxoid,
I don't have the URL, just google it. I do believe it's the first thing that
comes up.
Technically it's not USB tethering, but it allows you to do everything so long
as you
set up your proxy.

Speedtest over Bluetooth PAN -- Using Wifi instead of 3g (that was the speed
test before)

Everything looks pretty optimal.
